I just received my report and it says that there is no information on file from my previous employer.
I gave them the co. name (Schnieder) and they searched for it and again nothing. Now it's been 14 years, should I contact Schnieder and ask if they still have anything or not even bother? Just wondering if I list them on an application and it comes up with nothing, what would that do?

You can list them, but the regs only require you to list the past 10 years, so if you quit Schnieder more than 10 years ago then there is no need to list it unless for some reason a potential employer is specifically asking for more than 10 years.
If you quit Schnieder less than 10 years ago then go ahead an put it on the application. Either way it is unlikely that the company you are applying to will try to actually verify anything older than the past 3 years or so.

DAC reports go back 10 years, so any company you have been with in the past 10 years that REPORTS to DAC, will be on there.
At the 7 year mark, work record and accidents disappear, leaving only the dates at a specific company. This also applies to companies that go out of business. If the company goes under, the only thing available then would be the dates. And at 10 years, everything drops off for the company. |
