Why would I want to disassemble the whole wiring harness that came with the lights and replace them with marine wiring? A little much to much to do about a problem that doesn't exist.

Obviously that "nothing" was bad enough the first time that it melted and shorted out. Certainly doesn't sound like a nonexistant problem.

When you figure out that:

Your not messing with 110V AC ,and working with 12V DC.

Your not working in a climate control clean environment. (SALT, WILD TEMPERATURE CHANGES, WATER)

Then you'll understand why you should loop it back on to itself and heat shrink it, cover it in wire loom.

Maybe you need to fix lights on snow plows for a few weeks. Then you'll see that what you did won't last very long.

Do Rev a favor and park next to his truck when you go up in flames.....I know you dont like him, but that is the least you can do to put him out of his own misery!!

Steve the way you made your repair is EXACTLY how I would have made it. With the way I am given to over repair things according to alot of people on this board the way you did it is fine.

I count two who think Steve did it right (cheerleader one and cheerleader two), and ten who think Steve did it wrong (Rosty, GrayBeard, ncnewbie, Splitshifter, jorlee, usedup, mike3fan, Doghouse, BigDiesel, and myself).

Oh well, guess I'm gonna fry in Hell.

Got a load this morning after the other one with a good rate was cancelled, ya right. This load was a good rate also heading from SC to MO. It's been great running down the highway with the windows down in the 70's.

The load I picked up was about 45k worth of bricks. It was quite the operation there. Just one flatbed after another lined up and they loaded you on about 5 minutes then you pull out into the lot and strap it down. The loads had to be tarped also, not sure why because they were banded on every row and shrink wrapped in very heavy duty plastic. They were sand colored brick and they looked expensive. Pretty much every truck was headed to the same place and half of them didn't tarp the load even though the paper work said too.

It took no time to load, no time to strap and even less time to tarp it and I was on my way. It pulls pretty easy and I think any load with a low center of gravity is much easier to haul. Maybe the wind resistance also?

I've been averageing at least $1.80 per mile for the past month or so. Things are looking better and better every day. Nothing to fix on the truck so I feel guilty not doing anything. I am going to by some winch and chain boxes and put them on the inside of my headboard so I can free up the space in my trailer box. Those chains are like snakes and tend to move all over the place wrapping themselves around everything!

Heading to my pickup this morning I was on the phone and all of a sudden this guy comes on the CB yelling and screaming and I couldn't understand what he was saying. The north and south lanes are seperated by about 25 feet of trees and all of a sudden I could see the whole road was on fire and the sides. There was trucks on the side of the road and people. It happened so fast I couldn't really tell what had happened. I'm assuming there was an accident and a gas tank split open or something?

No nap today. Man, this trucking is one tough job!!!!

By the way Rev. How about posting some numbers on your new job. You must be being paid one Hell of a lot for a days work because as far as I can tell you play TruckZ all day and post for the past 2 months. Too much time on your hands. At least you don't have normal bills like the rest of us. Can't imagine how you would be able to get by without those free benefits.
