provided that the sum of the axle weight for both axles does not exceed 9 100 kg.
So they've restricted you to 20,000 lbs on the spread. If it's like Manitoba you cannot permit the weight (or so they told me). They'll check you at the scale house.

It's funny how this is exactly the opposite of the US. Lower 48 allows you MORE weight with a spread. Weird. But it sounds like you're so light it won't matter anyway. Something for Steve Booth International to remember in the future when the broker calls with a heavier load.

:)

They'll permit you for the wheelbase or are you just going to roll the dice?

Allan, only crazy men drive that route this time of year

Wellbase is fine. It's different all over Canada and total length is what matters.

I'm only going 20 miles over the border and even if I was illegal I would still take the chance. The money I'm getting far exceeds the cost of a ticket. Just like running overweight.

Steve, If I remember right you have the rigmaster installed on your truck, how do you like it, how much fuel does it burn/hr, and are you satisfied with its performance. I am thinking about getting one installed next week.
Thanks

I absolutely love it. I don't know for a fact how much fuel it burns as I have never done a real test but the documentation says .2 gallons per hour under load.

I love the feature where you just turn it off at night, set the low temp and it starts up, heats the cab then shuts off. It monitors the battery condition all the time and charges them whenever it's needed.

Most states allow you to scale 400 pounds more on your drives over the legal limit if you have an APU. This was passed by the Senate for all of the U.S. but they left it up to the individual states if they want to adopt it. Oregon is one state that allows the extra weight.

If my Rigmaster was stolen today I would replace it tomorrow!!!

This is not the case in Ontario, but no sense in getting in an arguement with the all knowing one,I have recounted my experiences with a long wheelbase tractor before in Canada and will leave it at that, but as long as Steve does not have a 53' trailer he will be fine.

BC's handy little chart says 244" too. But like Steve says, he's only going 20 miles in (the scale at the border probably won't be open) and if the load pays that much...who cares?
