When are you going to be in Langley? I haul fuel around these neck of the woods locally. By the way you cross the border crossing and there is a scale right when you get across the border. Just an FYI. You'll head up HWY 15 which is otherwise known as 176th St. which has alot of construction on it right now. Not many great truck stops around here so... best of luck to you finding a spot to sleep if need be. Although the place you are delivering too in Langley probably in the "Port Kells" area is more trucker friendly than most places in the Lower Mainland. Best of luck to you. Oh and watch out for those drivers that have diapers wrapped around there head they are just as bad as the mexicans you have down in the states.

I got a pretty decent rate for such a long haul out of New England. They called 3 flatbed drivers but none were allowed into Canada because of criminal records. Then, as usual, they called me at the last second on Monday morning and agreed to my rate.

If you had yer golf clubs with you..you could stop at Semiahmoo and play a round of golf...very nice place..if you like golf.

The Lynden/Sumas crossing used to be much easier for truck crossing(circa 2003)...don't know about it now...but it used to be much easier crossing than at Blaine.

I only played golf once when I was like 18. They kicked me out because I was laying down on the green using my putter as a pool cue.

First time I went to BC I had a Hyster forklift on a 3 axle double-drop. Cleared customs just fine, went a mile up the road to the scale, where they told me "No 3 axle trailers". I called dispatch, they said to bring it to the Spokane terminal & they would put it on a 2 axle trailer. One problem- the load had cleared customs and they wouldn't let it back into the U.S. I think my dispatcher was as green as I was, he was at least as freaked out as I was. After a couple of round trips between customs and the scale house I became a hero when I told them I would just pull the tires & wheels off one axle & chain it up. I still have a picture of that from 1980-something.

So, if you're light enough Steve, you can just pull the wheels & chain up one trailer axle & call it a single axle. If you do this please write about it so I can giggle at the usual suspects when they crucify you for it.
