No problem. Thanks for the tip on the shorter route to El Paso via Doners Pass. Or did I dream that? That's one problem with going to bed early is that you drive for some time in the dark but I think I'll wait a while today before heading out.

Tootie and hubby called yesterday also and gave me some tips on a way to go for the scenery. There really isn't any direct way to get to El Paso from Waco to I'm going to take some of those secondary roads since I have plenty of time until Monday. Should be nice.

Having fresh bread, butter and cheese on the side of the road on Rt 281 heading towards Fredrickson as Tootie suggested. Nice ride and real nice out right now. Just taking my time and enjoying the scenery. You really have to watch the signs on these roads. They go from 70 to 45 and everything in between.

Stopped at Walmart a little while ago for a few things. Man, those stores are everywhere. I type Walmart into my GPS and it comes up with page after page of store locations.

Me thinks I'll be on the side of road sleeping somewhere tonight. I don't think Flying J or Petro have anything out this way!!!

I prefer getting off the interstates when I can. I miss the old Route 66. There used to be some interesting sights along that road. There are many other good routes you can take across this great country with some beautiful sights.

There actually is a Flying J out off of I-10, right before you get into El Paso, it's off on the West Bound side. Pretty ghetto place in all honesty....come to think of it I believe it's a Petro, not a Flying J.
