I have a 2005 T-800 Kenworth
The dome lights start flashing on and off after about 5 or 10 minutes.I have checked the fuse box but they all look good.I am going to look over the wiring next.Any ideas ? Thanks and Happy Easter! Last edited by wrongwayTommy; 03-25-2016 at 09:48 AM.

Sounds like you have a short and the circuit breaker is kicking and resetting, could be high resistance on on or more bulbs or a weak breaker. I'd start by locating the breaker and replace that with a known good one of the same size, if that doesn't fix it then find out what is on the circuit and start pulling bulbs till you find the problem. With the breaker changed and all the bulbs pulled (except on for test) the problem persists then you have a wiring issue. If it is in the wiring get it fixed ASAP it could cause a fire!
Most tool trucks(Snap on, Mac, Matco) have a 'short finder' for sale, I don't remember what I paid for it but it works and was well worth the money! Have fun

here is where I am at with the truck
there is a low voltage sensor or cutoff under the dash above the clutch pedal.I took the panel down and found the sensor. It has a red light on it and it was flashing.I noticed it was loose and sliding around.I wiggled the connection and wires and the interior lights started working normal along with the cigeratte lighter plugins. Now my next thing is what does that flashing red light mean? Is it going bad or not getting enough voltage to the sensor? I`ll post what I find later. |
