Hey everyone. I've been browsing the site and there's a ton of useful info here. I'm looking at buying a new(to me) Pete 379. I live in Tennessee, and the truck is in Florida. I don't have my DOT#, IFTA, insurance, or tag yet. What is the best way to go about getting the truck back home without getting hassled by DOT? Can I get a temporary tag/insurance? I haven't contacted the dealer yet because it's after their business hours, but I have sent them an email. Thanks in advance for the help.

The dealer temporary tag will work just fine as long as you don't have a trailer attached. I doubt that they would bother you, but you can just take your paperwork inside and show them. I have never had a problem with a temporary tag. I have even taped a copy of the cab card to the right side windshield before receiving my tag and not had a problm.
