+1.
There seems to be way more bad agents than good these days. The odds of getting one of those worthless, lying, scumbags are way too high to be worth the risk of dealing with blue star at all.

I completely agree with one part of this post......

I am considering Landstar. Say what you want, but I have talked with about 200 of their drivers and only 1% have had anything negative to say. The one thing that I did hear negative was about their brokers running fleets of their own (in some parts of the country) and giving all the really cherry loads to their own fleet first. That totally bites and, imho, should be illegal, but who am I to say they can't screw all the other drivers if LS is allowing it, right? I suspect it would be the same at many other O/O companies that use brokers. I imagine the moral of that tale is to find out who those brokers are through experience, then never take loads from them in the future, make them have to survive only on what their own fleet can earn for them.
Ok, so let's say LS is out. Who should I look at as a GOOD alternative? And, please, don't waste your time replying one of the big carriers that also lease to drivers but only pay $.85-1.15 per mile whether you're O/O or lease. |
