I really like this truck
Can anyone with experience buying trucks tell me what they would be concerned about with this truck. It looks really nice, but the looks of the engine (rust, chipped/peeling paint) concern me with it only having 82k mi.

I would be concerned about whether the odometer miles are accurate. You could have the dealer connect to the ECM and match the miles. Other than that I would just want to do the other checks. If the miles are correct you probably are not going to have any major repair problems, but you could go ahead and do a dyno and oil sample. I might also check the maintenance records, if available. To tell you the truth, a 2 year old truck with only 82,000 miles would concern me a little. It should have at least twice that many miles. In fact, some 2 year old trucks would have around 200,000-300,000 miles.

Thanks for the feedback. Called this morning and it's sold. Snooze you lose. I thought the same thing about the miles also Gman - is it accurate? I think it was a nice truck though and was sorry to hear it sold.
This is another one I really like. It looks really clean. Wish it were blue, but it is a really nice truck.

My 99 just turned 310K miles..... it's been driven everyday and well maintained by myself. I just run local, about 100-150miles a day.

The "L" designates it as a LONG HOOD.
Peterbilt 387's have an EXHD for extended hood,
Freightliner Classics have a reg hood and a Classic XL for a long hood
And KW has the W900 and W900L

It is a good looking truck. You could always paint it if you could get it for the 'right' price. I think that they are asking too much for a 2008.
