Kelgar, I just talked to a guy from TarpStop in Gary, IN. They also have this parachute stuff and they can make any size tarp... but he said they are not 100% waterproof. Basically I was told if the load sits in the yard for a weekend and it rains, the water can seep through this parachute stuff. Any comments? You ever had problems with your tarps in this respect? Thanks!

Must be a different type of parachute material I have never had any leakage threw my tarps.I bought my tarps from Mercer when I was there and they told me they were parachute material look and they look like they are.

But the back side of them look almost as if they have some type of coating or something, they are smooth and have a different look then the topside of the tarp.

10/4 to that. I think I'll go with the PeakTarps to be on the safe side. Talked to Scott, the owner, today over the phone. Seemed like a nice guy. He can ship to a UPS store in Buffalo, NY all three tarps for about 80 bucks. He uses "Kardura" material. His 24' x 26' lumber tarp weighs ... 74 lbs! I'm 100 mi away from Buffalo and often cross into US there.

That should do the trick.
Nothing better than having light tarps....makes life that much easier.
Im getting ready to hook back up to my step real soon I parked it in april to pull a reefer......that was a mistake at least I don't own the reefer.

A friend of mine has a set of light weight tarps. He stopped in a few months ago and I noticed that he had some leakage after being in some heavy rain. The broker whom he hauled the load told him that it was a common problem with the light weight tarps. I would think that there is something that could be used to prevent any leakage.
