Default Ford kicks a** in Canada!

Check this out. This is a story published in a small town paper where I live, Guelph Mercury Tribune. This might be a sign of things to come in U.S. of A.

"July 03, 2009
The Canadian Press

TORONTO

Ford is claiming top spot in Canadian auto and light truck sales for the first time in decades.

Ford Canada says it sold 27,408 vehicles in June, a 24.6 per cent increase over the same month of 2008.

That put it more than 5,000 units ahead of perennial market leader General Motors, which sold 22,334 units in Canada last month despite its parent's Chapter 11 filing in the United States.

That put GM Canada's June sales 31 per cent below where they were a year ago.

Canadian auto sales numbers are coming out a day after their U.S. counterparts reported Wednesday that almost all of the automakers, except Honda, had sales declines last month compared with the same time last year.

Honda Canada didn't fare so well. Overall sales fell by 17 per cent from last year, with a 20 per cent decline at the Honda division more than offsetting a smaller increase at the Acura luxury division."

Not bad for a family owned business. They could wind up coming out of this in really good shape.

I was wondering.

Since Gm closed the Oshawa truck plant and a few US truck plants, can we even buy a US built GM pickup?

I read a story in the press recently which said that from now on GM will focus only on four brands: Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, and GMC. I'm pretty sure GMC pickup trucks will still be available.

My understanding GM going to have there cars and trucks made mostly in Mexico, even after taking the money from the Government.

Want to buy something made in the USA? Buy a Toyota. More of them being made here than Ford, or GM

yeah that's what I mean. Does GM even make a pickup in the US? I don't think so.
Anyone have a list of US or Canadian built vehicles?
