Default Hey Flatbedders/Stepdeckers

I keep hearing I can get my buckles restrapped but have not found a place yet. I probably have about 12 buckles saved up at this time. Any recommendations?

Damn truckers, all I ever get is "there's a place in Baltimore but I can't remember the name" "there's a place so and so can't remember the name"

I use a place in El Paso, TX called American Sling. I don't know if they are just in Texas or if they are nation wide. But they do good work. Generally though, I can buy new straps just as cheap. Usually can find them for $10 a piece or so case price.

Yep, $10 a piece @ TMI Florence,SC, case price.
I've "heard" of Arkansas inspections looking for the rating tag.

Ok then, thanks guys. I guess I'll just chalk all the time I spent cutting the straps from the buckles as part of the learning curve. I am going to make V boards out of the straps though, so it's not all wasted time.

That is a good idea about using your old straps to make V-boards. Another use is for padding to protect your new straps. Cut them in strips of about 8"-12" and fold them double so that you can keep your new straps from being cut on sharp edges.

You could use them without the buckle. Both ends in a winch, or in a portable winch.
