hello all, i'm looking in to a 05 378 pete. 63 stand up bunk, 10 speed, 3.55 rears. it has a 475 c15. not too sure if its acert or not tho. anyway, at 70-75 running 30000lbs gross, if i knock it down to a 435 do you think i can knock 6.5mpg or better? oh this is in a dry van. oh this is also on flat ground 100% of the time.

Try knocking the 70-75 down to 55, then you might get 6.5 mpg

No. It will probably get worse. It is an Acert, and if you could run it steady at 1300-1350 rpm, ON A FLAT GROUND, you should get 7.0-7.5 mpg, or better. Running 70-75 at those specs, would do you 6.0 at best, but i wouldn't bet on it. If you want a CAT, to run at those speeds, look for 3.25 or higher. That's wont be a problem on a flat ground. Make sure your torque is 1850, than you might get 6.5 mpg, if slowing down, is not an option....
