the plastic film is in the middle, two plates of glass are tempered sandwiching the film, when the glass breaks it sticks to the film in small chunks thats where the tint film is, in the middle of the tempered glass plates on the top edge of the windshield.

I have the same issue. Last two trucks. Drivers side faulty. I think little gremlins screw with the drivers side wiper before truck comes out of factory.
I also look out the drivers side alot. It must be worn out.

I have a theory. When the drivers side wiper clears that side of the glass the water goes off the windshield and down the drivers side window. When the passenger side clears its side of the glass it brings the water to the center of the window and the wind spreads it back across that side of the glass. Therefore that side of the glass stays wetter longer and that wiper lasts longer.

My theory is we spend most of our time in the right lane, others pass us in the left lane spewing more gunk on the left wiper. I just came up with it and I think I am brilliant

Not on my KW, the right side throws the water out the right side, the left side throws it left.
My theory is we spend most of our time in the right lane
Nope, I spend most of my time in the left lane.

I'd have to agree with ya there.

I just want to let you guys know, I just bought those pressure springs you put on your wipers to keep em jammed against the window. I,ll let you know how they work, after a trip upstate in the snowy weather. That will be a good test for them.

Almost right. Yes the plastic is in the middle but the glass is not tempered. Two pieces of regular glass with plastic in the middle is laminated. Thats why when you get a rock chip that cracks the crack runs. If they were tempered they would shatter into tiny pieces like a side window. Some older cars had tempered windshield (60's and earlier) but they have not made them that way for a long time.
