I would not get another Onan for myself. I'd go to ICT- they'll sell it to you and install it for you.

They'll sell you one for $5k more than he spent for this one.

It was just a suggestion.
I don't know about the $5k more. I'm talking about quality and reliablity. The folks I know with Onans have a lot of repairs. I'm not sure if you're talking apples to apples. They'll sell you a new one with warranty for about $5k more than buying the used Onan? If it's used, there are a lot of factors other than just price to consider.
I didn't read the sentence that said you already bought it before my last post. I would definitely suggest that if you need repairs done to use Cummins in Avondale (Phoenix). We've been to a whole bunch of Onan/Cummins for the Cummins engine and the Onan generator and those guys are, by far, the best.
Avoid Cummins/Onan in Las Vegas and Albuquerque (same ownership) as well as the one in Dallas. We only went there for the generator but they did a terrible job and we had to have their work redone (and they had the generator off the truck for about 2 weeks).
If you're good with mechanical stuff, fantastic. The motor should be easy enough to work on when it needs it.
