Don't mean to break in on this thread, but it looks like with the new GPS units building and loading GPS files could be a thing of the past. I was just watching this video for a GPS unit I just ordered and I was thinking about this thread while I watched it. Looks like we all can just add things we want to know about into searches, save them for everyone to get to and send them to the GPS directly over the internet. I am going to try this as soon as mine arrives and will let you know how it worked...

Yup, that looks pretty cool but your still going to want all your truckstops in one place so that you can click on that option at any time while your driving instead of pulling over to whip out your laptop.
I would like the ability to modify a route as in Microsoft Streets and Maps and then download that route to my GPS.

It looks like you can simply create a truckstop favorites search and then just send that to the GPS. Then there will be a Truckstop search button on the unit. So it should eliminate the need to pull out the laptop as the Dash Express is connected to the internet via Wifi and Cellular. It looks like we can create and share data as well in the community and post it in the community forum so as we find things specific we can quickly add them to the share and let everyone know. I will test the favorites search feature when I get it and let everyone know how well it works.
Also I will ask about the possibility of creating a Trucking section to the My Dash community that specifically addresses the Trucking community. It would be great to have info specific to Truckers on the community page and in it's own section so that is is easier to find. I agree on the advanced route planning. The online tools just aren't that good yet to do this type of thing well. That's a good question about importing those routes from tools like Streets and Trips. I will have to give that a try as well and see if that is possible. My Dash Express should be showing up in the next few days. I will test to see how well these route sharing and favorites searches work out and let everyone know. I don't know about you, but messing with my Garmin for my saved POI's and waypoints is too much like work. So I am very hopeful this new tool will make that obsolete. Longsnowsm

If someone could make a list of truckstops that have Starbucks in them, I would pay for that.
