Default Empty truckstops? am I missing the strike?

I was off the road for 45 days, and just came back out on May 30th.
I've stopped at two J's the last two nights and these places are like a ghost town. It's 8 p.m., and this one on I-95 in SC is only 1/3 full.

Everybody went out of business. You have to haul all the freight now. Don't let us down.

You're making 90 cpm, shortest miles, loaded and empty. You'll receive fuel adjustment down to a buck and a half a gallon based on 7mpg, payable in S&H green stamps.

LOLOLOL

I don't know about any strike, and no_worries says capacity is only off about 2% over last year.

It'd be cool if somehow a whole lot less vehicles were on the road and we could still make a decent living!

You can't tell that there is a shortage of trucks in El Paso. However, I spoke with a guy who works at the Flying J and he told me that it has been off quite a bit lately. The truck stop parking lots sure seem to be full. That must be why there seems to be fewer trucks on the road. They are parked at the truck stops.

If all you flatbedders will just whip out your Hibachis, we can all grill hotdogs and make it a fun depression.

Strike, Hell I thought everybody was just supposed to slow down. I came up from Ardmore,Ok to St. Louis with the cruise set at 65 and EVERYBODY passed me. So much for slowing down to conserve fuel.

J in Barstow and Petro in Kingman were both pretty full last night, and that is one big ass lot at the Petro. All the casino lots in NM were fillin' up pretty good today. Friday and Saturday are two of the slowest nights of the week in terms of parking. Check back tomorrow night when all the trucks that headed for the east coast are holed up waiting to make their Monday deliveries
