I have to tell you this story that happened to me because I'm still beside myself about it. Now as you guys know I have a small construction company, but this is just an event that reaffirmed my faith that there are some good business people out there. Here we go............
A couple months ago I got a call from a General Contractor to bid on a Moes Mexican Restaurant. I didn't know and have never met or even heard of this GC. I only had a few days to put something together for her because of the deadline and I was extremely busy at that time but I worked evenings and weekends to put it together. I even went to an existing Moes to get an idea of the scope of work. Well another GC was awarded the job so of coarse, I didn't get it. She called me to let me know and thank me for the effort I put in, which was very nice, most GC won't even call. She told me to keep my eye out for the mail she was going to send me something. I opened the mail Sunday night and here was her letter to me: Letter I think this was the most generous thing I've seen since going into business. I've had people give me stuff but like I said I've never even done a job for this company. In case anyone wants to know I'm spending 100 bucks on chrome.  I'm kidding. Anybody else with a similar story? Sometimes it's easy to get frustrated with the nasty low handed things you see going on so this was special for me.

That is very out of the ordinary, I bet you were shocked! I have been dump trucking for a long time and had just about had it with all the underhanded, slow pay , no pay, and all the other bad junk that comes with the construction buisness, I was ready to quit all together. Then one Saturday I covered a job for a buddy and turned out to be an old school pipeline contractor who treated me very well even gave me a no interest loan to buy another trailer. He totally renewed my faith in contractors and I have been working steady for him for about 5 years now. I know how you feel though it's the thought that counts, $100 aint much money but it was worth a million.

Very nice for sure.
My mother always gave me $200 for my birthday and I would tuck it away in my wallet. I would spend it on something I would NEVER dream of spending $200 bucks on like a new pair of sunglasses. I think you should buy chrome.

The second nicest thing was a couple years ago when my appendix burst and I was in the hospital for four days one of my customers came to visit me. I thought at the time "wow, this is really nice of him" then just before he left he said "oh yeah Dave, I got this job coming up in Towson think you could take a look at it when you get out of here?"  SOB

Thanks for sharing! We all need to share those positive experiences more often! It gets tiring just hearing the dirt!
