Ok at this time I'm still running a company truck
and my truck is still parked. But I'm I looking at this right? Weekly Retail On-Highway Diesel Prices ($ per gallon, including all taxes) 3/10/2008 -------------------Avg. fuel price-------Fuel schg New England --------3.938 -------------0.56 Central Atlantic------3.989 -------------0.57 Lower Atlantic-------3.814--------------0.54 Midwest ------------3.784---------------0.53 Gulf Coast-----------3.798 --------------0.53 Rocky Mtn.----------3.732---------------0.52 West Coast----------3.885---------------0.55 California------------3.955---------------0.56 * These fuel surcharges are based on the average price of fuel in each region for the week indicated. * Total surcharge per loaded mile. So let's say I'm hualing a load 100 miles my FSC is 0.56 per mile = $56.00 FSC And my truck gets say 5 miles to the gal. So 100 / 5 = 20 gals 20 gals X $3.93=$78.60 and now take off the $56.00 FSC So cost for fuel is $22.60 After FSC . So I'm I not paying $1.13 a gal I'm I doing this right ? Like Gman says all the time don't haul it if it don't pay right.

Your math is right it's just the wanabe O/Os that you here bitching about fuel price. I figure right now I am paying about the same for fuel as I was in 2000.
