I saw a sign
#1
I was getting loaded yesterday in Indiana and saw this sign near the shipper's door: "THE EXTRA MILE IS PART OF OUR ROUTE." Looks like they EXPECT truckers to go the extra mile, which defeats the whole idea of 'going the extra mile" - doing something beyond what is expected of you.
Which means, if I do go an extra mile and do something the shipper doesn't expect (SURPRISE!!!), that'd be 2 (two) extra miles that pay nothing :P

There is a job listing board in the lobby at my wifes office that lists all the available positions pay and bennies. The ony one on there is for the shipping recieving dept. Lists the pay ,med, 401k and how they are family company and how they offer a "human schedule" then lists, "must be available weekends and holidays and work 10 hours OT per month" The running joke is that it is a robot schedule because only a machine could do it, and they are a family company because the only way you see your family is if they work there to.
