You will need a major credit card with any of the truck rental companies. They also ran a credit check on my company. I paid a little over $700. It was $500/week plus $0.10/mile. I got a discount on the mileage rate. I believe they told me their regular rate is $0.15/mile. The rate I received was a weekly rental rate. I think it was $100/day plus mileage. If you know that you will keep the truck for at lease a week then I would go ahead and commit for the entire week. It will save you money. I believe they also have a monthly rental rate. It can get a bit pricey.

I used to rent for the summers. Last summer, it was 548 and 10cpm. They plate it free, and offer insurance if you need it.

If you look on Ryder's website, they have the rates. its amazing how the rate changes from locations, sometimes well over 100/day!

A kenworth dealer can set you up too with a PacLease rental, and they are competitive with Ryder & Penske.

from what I know about penske and others, you either need to have a business to rent a truck.. or you need to have at least a $10,000 credit rating on your CC so that they can charge that to you as a safety deposit, until you return the truck to them in its original shape
