Yo Doghouse

What did that system cost you and where did you get it ???

"battery APU" is such a broad term.

Anyone with a set of truck batteries and an inverter qualifies as having one.

To me, it would be either a separate bank, or maybe some good high quality AGM or the new firefly batteries running an a/c system.

I wrote a few how-to stories for Truck News in Canada but they ran out of money so I stopped. Unfortunately i have no experience with the items the editor listed

I've got 3 Optimas with an integrated Xantrex A/C inverter system. I'm probably going to be adding a second bank of batteries to the system. It's actually a really neat setup. The inverter doubles as a trickle charger if I plug in.

Ash,

I put the system together with some help from RV Solar.com.
It cost around $5,500.00 and uses.
3 Kyocera 130watt solar panels run through a Go Power charge controller.
This charges up 6 100lb deep cycle batteries (1050 amp hrs) which run through a Xantrex RS3000 Pure sine wave inverter with a 3,000 watt constant/7,500 watt surge.
Then the truck alt. also charges while I drive. You can see pic's in my main thread.
