Auto liability and general liability will run you a lot more then that. That is about right for bobtail, which is only required when leased on to a company. Not required with your own Authority. As for the physical amount, that sounds about right for a truck worth about $20,000 to $30,000. One of the benifits to getting this insurance on your own is not having money taken out of your settlements with a carrier and having to keep track of what they take out. It makes things a little less confusing, and teaches you where your money is going.

The Bobtail is out of wack.
You can do better than that.
Try Continental O/O 406-655-7940
$42 per month.

Bobtail seems to run between $30-60/month. Physical damage runs from 2-4% of the stated value of the equipment.

Actually, my bobtail was $48 a month when I was leased on to my last carrier. So, yes that rate seems a little high. As in more then double.

When I leased to a carrier I believe I was offered bobtail through their insurance company for about $30/month. I chose to go through OOIDA at the time, even though the rates were a bit higher. I preferred to keep my insurance separate from the carrier. Many carriers offer reduced rates for bobtail and other insurance.
