No no, your doing the right thing. I guess I didn't follow your past posts enough.

It sounds like the inspection you got was a State inspection and not a DOT inspection given the cost. It should have cost between $75 and $125.

I'm no expert in this stuff but I'm sure that scarey blue masked man will be along shortly to add to this. lol

Thanks Steve, I think you are more of an expert than you might think.
I have been reading you post "desk to authority" and I have enjoyed
every bit ( with the exception of some of the naysayers post) You and Gman both inspired me . I too was behind a desk for 22 or so years at one time , I also built some houses, flipped some houses done repair work on houses, sold cars and about a dozen other things. I hope I am doing all this right , I learn more each day. Thanks Darin

I checked the inspection and all it says is "annual vehicle inspection report" The sticker is white about 3 by 4 inches and has a referrence to being in accordance with 49cfr396.17 . I looked this up in the Federal Motors carriers safety book . I think it is a DOT but please correct me if I am wrong.

So far everything I have either checked on or already paid for has been
less expensive than I was told or expected. I am enjoying the challange
involved in getting all these filings, regs, tags, and so on. Now I have to
play the waiting game .

You'll know your authority is coming before it arrives because your phone will start ringing non stop with people trying to sell you upgrades. I can't remember for what. You can check the government web page like I did every day also until it shows up as active.

Darin,

Lately I've seen a lot of car carriers loaded with golf carts. One more type of freight to throw on your truck.

I actually have a golf cart and was going to measure it to see if two can sit side by side, by just looking I say yes . Just need to figure out how to
hang one from the wheel lift  ( Just kidding )
