I'm not sure how well "Hi Fi" will work for trucking.

I've found that WiFi works better than HiFi

But I'd suggest Verizon.

I hear Sprint is just as good as Verizon. Cingular....not so much (as Borat would say).

I have had Sprint for about 2 or 3 years now. So far it has worked pretty well in most areas.

I had Sprint for a couple years up until about 1 year ago. Since then I changed my cell phone service to Verizon and when I came back out on the road a month and a half ago I got wireless Internet through Verizon also. I got the USB modem instead of a card this time and I haven't been somewhere that I wanted service and didn't have it. The only problem I had was with the USB extension cable that came with the modem so I could set it up in the truck for a better signal, it must be bad. I need to buy another one but plugging the modem directly into my computer so far has worked fine. 8) 8)

I have the sprint USB plugin for my home computer, my son has the sprint air card for his laptop, both work fine. Fast as my cable, or faster. (I have lousy cable in my area).... Use mine mainly when my cable is down so I don't loose work time. Plan on switching to all sprint as soon as I get the router for the home. My son uses a router in his truck.

I know this is a little off track here but the other day I was having serious issues with using Getloaded.com. It would freeze up and that was that. I had no idea if it was the program, my computer, Cingular's slow service (which is getting better) or what but in the end I figured it out.

I had Skype on my computer and it turned every single phone number on Getloaded's board into a hyperlink to make a phone call. I deleted Skype and all was well again. But I was trying to get a load that day and was frustrated as hell. Probably didn't have to delete Skype now that I think of it probably could have just turned off that feature.

Anyway for some reason this thread made me think of that. I don't know if anyone else has had that problem.

Merrick, I had a problem with Skype and those phone numbers. It was very aggravating. I deleted Skype, too.
