$200.000 cargo verses $100.000 cargo? Is it worth the extra money? Will the high dollar cargo make up the difference.

Like buying a All Aluminium over a Composite! Will the extra weight limit make up the extra $10000?

He's setting himself up to get raped on a cargo claim. Some $70,000 load will be listed as $200,000 on the claim and poor Steve will be stuck covering it when his insurance company bails on him.

It should be worth at least 2%! :P

So with a million on liabilty and $100000 cargo, that should satify most shipper and brokers?

Christ I never would have thought of this. So are you saying to always just keep the minimum?

No insurance company is going to pay a claim amount simply because the broker or shipper listed a certain valuation. Cargo insurance is not the same as the insurance you get from Fedex or the USPS where you're covered for whatever amount of insurance you purchased.

Now that I think of it, the higher the insurance the more likely the insurance will put up a fight.

I not too long ago got a personal umbrella policy for a $1,000,000. And one of the reasons as a matter of fact was that if I was sued before for a million dollars you can better believe that the insurance company would have paid the $150,000 or so I had before and left me hanging for the rest.

You can better believe now they won't be so quick to pay out. They say these umbrella policies are the only good deal in insurance. I paid like $350 but I did have to up my auto insurance a bit.

Hey no_worries did you make it out all right of Florida? The weather hasn't been too nice here, warm enough though.
