I don't know about Rumble, but Fleetcar requires previous otr and car hauling experience. Most carhauler companies require experience. You could buy a roll back that hauls 3 cars and then get a trailer that hauls 1 or 2 cars. That setup would probably cost less than buying a new 1 ton dually and trailer. Just something else to consider.

Mr. GMAN, I always wondered why you got out of hauling cars if you don't mind me asking?

Gman, you are the man . I was thinking about ways to do this and actually saw a rollback with a head rack on ebay or somewhere but entirely forgot about it. This would probably allow larger area , either 500 miles or unlimited ( if the ins don't have a limit on a rollback ) . I was also thinking about getting different sorts of loads other than cars ( if possible) to reduce very long deadhead miles . When an insurance company limits you to a certain amount of miles say 300, are they talking about air miles ( as the birds fly). Darin

I fell off the top of one of my trailers and broke my back and both wrists. I was in a body cast for about 5 1/2 months. It is a miracle that I wasn't paralyzed or killed. I couldn't work for about a year. I thought about going back to it, but it was such a battle with my family that I decided to stay away from that side of the business. I do fairly well pulling flats and steps.

Wow. Jeez I guess that explains that. It's funny you out of anyone here always talk good about this industry and this job and this job almost killed you. That says a lot about your attitude and probably your general outlook on things in life. I certainly wish you continued success in this business; you deserve it.

I appreciate it, Merrick. I must say that it was a very difficult year. I got careless for a second and that was all it took. I was fortunate in where my back broke. Had it been in another part of my back the outcome could easily have been much different. I won't go into all the details, but a lot of things really worked in my favor during that time. Attitude makes all the difference. Your attitude will have as much or more to do with your success than any other factor.

Once again, what GMAN said in two sentences could fill a book. Attitude is everything!
