For that I'll have to get out my kitty litter supply, and call up the EPA

Don't use the FS-2500. Have looked over the test results supplied by them. The cost is pretty high for the product... $700 plus for the initial install. The test results of the FS-2500 look pretty good.

I use the Amsoil bypass setup. It was also the closest of all others to the FS-2500 in performance and a single remote bypass setup is a little over a $100 and a dual remote bypass about double that.

Also, the FS-2500 is a replacable element whereas the Amsoil setup is spin on filters. I like the cheaper cost of the Amsoil setup and the convenience of spin on filters.... less mess and time consuming to change with darn good performance. You can check out the Amsoil setup at www.amsoil.com

Seems like the installatoin instructions say to install a T at the oil pressure sensor. Do these things cause a drop in oil pressure?

A friend of mine has a Gulf Coast oil bypass system. He really likes it. The down side to any of these systems is that it is VERY messy to change oil filters. It can save quite a bit on oil changes. I have never been comfortable keeping old oil in any of my trucks for that long.

What level of filtration does the Amsoil claim? The literature from the people selling the FS-2500 claims they filter down to 3 microns and they have a chart comparing them against four rivals (Amsoil included) but of course it does not give actual figures for their competitors just a big 'N' in the Y/N format on whether each company filters down to 3 microns.

BTW, they cite independent research saying that most engine wear/damage comes from contaminants in the 3 to 20 micron range.
