It was $3,100 for both installed, do you have any idea what just the bunk heater installed would have cost?

I have an Espar bunk & engine heater..it's been reliable to -35. Paid for itself in one winter. Don't even know if my block heater works...have never used it! I'd have to search to find the plug in!!!! LMAO

Why? Any particular reasons?

I would imagine because of the coolant heater.

Never used it...Don't need it...Use the Espar instead... Just set the timer & forget it... need more reasons?

Mine also has an oil pan heater, so it heats the oil as well...it's so nice to have the oil at 150 degrees as well when I fire up the truck, hardly any idle time required.... I LOVE my Espar!!

Oh! Sorry! I thought you were talking about Espar.... ops:
Is that "oil pan heater" standard, or it's an option?

Ya know, I'm not sure, when I spec'd my truck, I told the salesman I wanted a *good* Espar heater...& that's what I got!

I run in the Arctic, so I HAD to have something that was absolutely reliable (mine's good till at least -35, probably lower (I've used it at home to -45), but not on the road).

Mine does not have AC, but then I might only need AC one or 2 days/year, not worth the extra cost IMHO, BUT when it gets really hot (for me that's in the 80's  ) I open my top vents, crack the windows, & park in a shady spot & can run the fan alone, & since my truck has the Arctic insulation package (not available in US trucks I'm told) in it, it takes a long time before it gets too hot inside.
