I don't know about the Mack engines, but a remained CAT costs about $25,000. With a remained engine you take the old engine out and replace it with a factory re-manufactured engine. An in-frame costs about 1/2 of a remained. Most people do an in-frame unless there is something wrong with the block of the old engine.

You are welcome, thebobguy. I got into this business around 1970. I took a break from driving during that time to pursue some other interests, but never quite got away from this business. It tends to get in your blood.
