Got this from the OOIDA forum, and copied and pasted it.
the EGL gang over here in Orlando has about the same attitude towards its contractors. In fact, the entire HQ corporate poeple have it. They long down their noses at the people doing the actual work, and making the money for this company as just a pack of "drivers". (but make sure you bring your $100,000 truck, "driver")
I asked about Florida hauls, asked for copies of the contract to be emailed, asked about rates, asked lots of questions. They all basically ignored me, email after email, until I reached the limits of my patience with them and let both barrels go.
With the attitude this 3PL BROKER has towards its money making contractors, it won't be long before they go belly up (assuming that the Feds continue locating other slimy tactics of surcharges, overcharges, rate hikes, and whatever else EGL can came up with).
Kinda makes you think if EGL believes that they can do this to the Federal Government, guess what's going on behind the lines as far as their "DRIVERS" are concerned.
Just from reading your article, I'd take care if I was a current EGL contractor, watch every penny. For me, they had their chance and screwed it up with their half baked assed attitudes. Anytime someone is not free with a business transaction, tries to keep silent or hold things back - that's just red flags popping up all over the place.
