Default In cab heater/engine heater

Now that the cold weather is coming, I'm looking for a good bunk/engine heater. I idle at least 4 hours a day in the winter to keep warm at those slow docks, so I'm sure it will pay for itself quickly. I especially need it for those cold mornings where there is no plug in.

Can anyone recommend one? I am looking at a Webasto unit for around $1800 installed. Any pros/cons from the northern users out there?

I had the Espar D2 and D5 installed in my truck a couple of weeks ago,one is for the bunk and the other is for the coolant, the bunk heater is awesome.I haven't had to use the coolant heater yet,but it has a 7 day timer on it so you can set it to come on over the weekend and have everything warmed up when you get to your truck,$3,100 installed.2 year warranty.

Get one of those battery operated AC units for the summer and you have it all covered. 8)

After paying $3.39 a gallon today for fuel,it sure is nice not to have to idle the truck at night,I am beginning to think this may have been one of my best investments.

they are. depending on where you run. It's a gallon an hour to idle....6 hours a day (sometimes 12). $25 - $50 every day.

Your avatar, is that a Volvo? Are they running the states?

We're designing an an aero-upgrade for OTR cabovers-trailer combinations.

Though there aren't too many cabovers doing OTR this design needs the most help to better its fuel mileage.

Have a happy Christmas and New Year, -ALL!
