Default loadboard information

If I start using Internet truck stop load board what kind of information do they need. What I am asking is how does the shipper or broker get your MC# and your insurance information, is this some of the info. You have to fax. Or is it posted on the load board and they can look it up if they want to. What other info is needed. I will be hauling only in the state of TX, can that info be posted on the board?

It has been some time since I originally signed up with internettruckstop, but the only thing I recall being asked is for my MC# and DOT #. When you talk with brokers, they will want a copy of your MC authority, W9 and certificate of insurance making them additional insured. Most load boards will require your MC# and DOT #. Some may only require one of those numbers.

Your liability and cargo insurance will have to come from the insurance company and not you by the way.

Good point, Steve. I have had some brokers who have taken a copy of my certificate until they get it from the insurance company. Most will want it direct from the insurance company before they will send a rate confirmation.
