Yup, reminds me of when I was getting ready to head out for the first time. The closer it came to heading out the longer my list of things grew. I made a million trips to Walmart, Home Depot and the local truck store. Me and the UPS guy were on a first name basis also.

Once I got on the road my to do list kept growing as I discovered little things wrong and other stuff I really didn't like and wanted to do it a different way. I think I was on the road for at least 4 months before there wasn't anything else that didn't need fixing or replacing.

Great,......now I can look forward to that!!
I have all my goodies in and running, the truck batteries are no longer holding a charge (they were old,old autozone batteries), so I'm going to run the truck off my battery bank. There's room to add 2 more batteries if the 4 that are already there aren't strong enough to run everything. It also takes about 200lbs off the truck.
The bonus is that now the 135 amp truck alternator will assist my solar panels to charge the batteries. This is important especially going into winter,..my panels are flat mounted,....they can't be tipped towards the sun, and in the winter the sun is much lower than summer, so the truck alternator is a welcome addition.
I would also like the new style carrier A/C heat pump that is 6" lower than my coleman (and uses less energy),......so that could be a change as well.

Maybe I'll just work on my truck forever and never drive it,...I'll just sit in it, sleep in it, and blow the airhorn to piss off my neighbors

AH rating of 135!

I wonder what the CCA's are.

Allan,
Those are real nice batteries, do you know how much they cost? I like them better than my flooded lead acid monsters (400lbs), and when mine go bad in a few years I hope the battery technology is bringing the price down. (I paid $800.00 for my batteries)
I am useing 4 390 ah batteries,.... 6 volts, wired for a 12 volt supply.
So far I have been able to run my entire truck including the roof A/C for 11 hrs, and without the A/C the power supply lasts around 96 hrs before it needs a recharge,..couple that with the espar diesel heater and coolant heater, and I have a completey silent truck for up to 4 days,..without running my main engine.
The batteries are charged by the solar panels, the truck alternator, and the diesel genny.

I wouldn't worry too much about CCA's,..that really only applies to car batteries,..deep cycles are a whole other animal.

Tootie,
My truck had an inframe at 800,000 miles along with a new clutch. I'm at 925,000 miles now so it should last a while.
It's a 365hp Detroit 60 11.7 w/410 rears and 22.5's.
It's no powerhouse, but it gets the job done.

I already bought a place in St Pete, and the next move will be to Northern Florida. In a few years I hope to go to AZ,..but my girls family is in Fl.,..so that plan might have to wait as well.
I don't mind,...as long as I get through Flag a few times a year,...I'll be happy.
