the thing is, if you have your own truck, you can call many companies and negotiate with them a schedule that comforts you, if you call a bunch of them Im sure one of them will satisfy your needs.
oh, and if they promise you the things youre looking for, try to get it in writing, so if there is a problem down the road you have proof.

I don't know of any company who is exactly like Landstar. You have no dispatch. You dispatch yourself. You pick the loads you haul and where you haul them to. When you go home and when you leave. You have to be somewhat self-disciplined to work with Landstar. The freedom you have there is exceptional but it is also the downfall of some drivers.

Company i drive for, Roadrunner dawes is better than landstar, no dispatchers find your own frieght, and they pay alot better landstar pays 67%??? Roadrunner pays 96% of 100% and you find the load yourself from any broker you want

thanks for the all the responses..sorry for the slow replies. I don't have easy access to on-line so it takes me awhile to reply..I'm looking to have as much control of my schedule as possible and where I run and if that means less money, so be it (within reason of course).
