DD, would you still be pulling your flatbed if you go with Landstar?

With LONEstar you will have plenty of freight to pull on a drop deck. All of the aircraft engines require them. Once you get in and test the waters with ur flat you will be able to figure out the advantages of pulling a drop deck for them. My uncle started with a drop, then he went and spent about 60 grand for a brand new double drop rgn color matched to his Pete. That was definately a sweet setup! The only reason he left was to take a job with a pipeline outfit (which he met while working for lonestar) managing their pipe and mat yard. With per diem they pay him about 2500 a week, so that is really a no brainer!
DD, which of the two companies have u decided on? I have personally met the terminal owner of the Memphis location several times.... name is Harry I believe. He was a super nice guy! If you ever think you want to do any engine hauling or FedEx stuff he is the man!

It was a tough decision between them and Landstar.......I really couldn't figure out which one might be a better fit for me and vise versa. So, I decided that the first one to give me the green light would be where I go.....sounds kind of childish, but it was that or flip a coin

I think you have made the right decision DD. I really hope things go well for you over there. Once you get started and get a taste of how things are going let us know! I bet you are starting to get the long haul itch again seeing that you have been home for a few weeks.
