Default Truck broker into in Dallas

About 2 hours ago our truck was broken into at the Flying J in Dallas, TX. The state trooper caught one of the crooks (a man) the other was a female. They stole my husband hand bag that he keeps his debit card, fuel card, and VA card. They also stole all the registration papers to the truck and trailer. They popped out the lower small window and reached into the truck and unlocked the door. Another truck driver saw them go into the truck and thought it was theirs.

They also stole everything from a Canadian truck driver's truck. We've pressed charges against the guy. Be careful out there and take your personal stuff with you when you leave the truck.

Were you able to get everything back that they took ? That's sucks. Thankfully that never happened to me. I always secured my truck but there's not much you can do if they decide to pop the little window or break a window. If I ever caught someone violating my personal space, oh man, it just wouldn't be good. If the cops were called I'd be the one in the back of the car. Hope everything works out for you ok 8) 8)

No, my wife has to go to the DMV to reregister the trailer and also get the IFTA, IRP, and other papers for the tractor. Because I don't have a fuel card she will have to western union money to me to purchase fuel.

Thanks for the kind words.

That is a very sleazy Flying J. I spoke to a cop who was working there several years ago and he told me that there was more going on at that Flying J than at the Pilot. And there is a lot of stuff going on at the Pilot not too far away. I try to not stop at either of them.

You talking about them in Dallas, GMAN? Yeah, those are much bad. I dont care for any of those truck stops on I-20 over there. Pretty rough. I've always gotten fuel, and stuff at Petro in Weatherford.

Weatherford is good. I sometimes fuel at the Love's on 67 close to Waxahachie. There isn't much close to Dallas that is decent, as far as truck stops are concerned. There is a fuel stop just south of I-20 on I-35W called QT. It is basically just a fuel stop, but the parking spots are very wide. Parking is somewhat limited. You also have Carl's south of Dallas on I-35....or is it I-45? I think it is I-35 just south of where I-35E and I-35W come back together. There are a couple of independent North of Ft. Worth. It is a shame for a city the size of Dallas to not have at least one good truck stop that is close.

Yeah, GMAN that is Carl's Corner on 35E, just north of the split in Hillsboro. There is also a newer Pilot on I-35, and Alliance Gateway(HWY 170). Exit 65, if I remember right. I agree with ya, GMAN, as big as the Metromess is, and there are not any more truck stops than what they have.
