Anybody interested in me posting my miles, fuel costs, maintenance costs, etc.? If you don't want me to do it, fine. I recall reading a thread entitled "no more diaries!" I guess they annoy some people who just can't ignore them.
Just curious because I would've liked to have a thread going here where I could look and see how someone else is doing with their lease deal with their mega-carrier when I was on the fence as to whether or not to do it. I drive for Crete. I'm reluctant to call them a mega-carrier because I'm not sure what qualifies a company as being one. There seem to be alot of negative connotations with that term as well. Also I'd like to pose the question as to whether or not I'm a lease op or owner op. My name is on the truck's title. However, I cannot broker a load outside of the company. So which is it? Lease op, or O/O? I'm reluctant to do this because I take alot of time off. My wife and I are trying to have another child... which requires me to be home at certain times of the month  and once I get home I like to spend time with my son who is almost 2 and my xbox 360. Another reason I'm reluctant to do it is because of all the braggarts and "one uppers" who post on here. If you make more money then me, good for you, care to share some knowledge as to how to go about gettin' what you got?? I'm content with what I have. I'm not in this to be the richest trucker in the company. But being o/o has been a great experience so far.

To hell with the no more diary/journal crowd!
Put it on here Prodigy! Good luck to you and your wife on trying to have another child (you bad, bad boy  lol). Hey, gotta love that time you have now with the little man and the Xbox! I know the feeling with having a seven year old. But wait til your son gets old enough to toss that football and baseball around with you all over the yard .I say do your journal, that way anyone interested in being a prospective O/O can see real figures of what they may be up against, and to see if it's something that may or may not work for them. You may very well be able to answer a question someone has though they never ask it. I don't think you could say that Crete is mega. Large yes, but mega would be more of the Swift, SNI model. What is Crete's total number of trucks including Shaffer and all O/O's...maybe 7,000 (???). Again, large but not mega in my opinion. As for other O/O's who make more (not necessarily on here), it's probably due to being paid percentage, and/or also specialized or LTL freight. I for one am very interested in reading your journal if you so choose to do one. Have a good night and be safe ...

I'd like to see it and really I don't consider that really a diary or anything as long as your just posting numbers. To see your numbers and have those that might suggest some tips on how you can improve your numbers would be a big help.

Anything that will allow me to spend more time staring at that little animated dancing girl...I'm serious, that thing is wicked mesmerizing.
A diary from you of all people would be interesting. Cents per mile is just not represented on this board. You'll catch a little flack, but it looks like you can give it back with some extra, too. I hope you do it. My gross after 5 months is only $46k and I rarely get to the house ($11k/mo over the last three). You can probably beat that and I for one would be interested to read about it.

I think it would be good for you to post your figures. It might help those thinking about leasing on to a mileage carrier. Anything which helps a new driver or owner operator would be good.
