I just found out about Balance Masters. Priced about the same as Centramatics at the J. Filled with mercury instead of the steel balls!?
Even says this: "Pre balancing is not recommended" What???? Centramatics weren't supposed to save you the cost of balancing your tires. These do!?!??! (although I think I heard Kevin Rutherford say he doesn't balance his tires now that he is using Centramatics) So, what's the word on the street? Where you at, Allan5oh?

I like both, am currently running Centramatics (b/c that's what they had when I was there) on all 5 axles. We still put the tires on the balancer to make sure they aren't bad (waayyy out there), but don't put the weights on...
I don't really have a preference.

Finally, 1,000 views later!
Thanks Truckdobe. You've seen them, you use them, can't tell any difference. I guess I expected that. I just hadn't heard of Balance Masters and thought maybe they were the lastest thing and nobody knew about them. Some body somewhere probably did some scientific comparison of them but maybe there just isn't much difference between them. |
