Hmmmm, for that kind of money you could easily afford to dead head back east of the Mississippi river. It seems too good to be true.

Mabye they meant $700. But you never know. Somebody needs an engine for something thats got to be up and running will pay anything to get it. I know a guy that runs a ferry company. He rebuilds motors in the middle of the night to get the boat going for the next day. He just cannot have a boat down. When he needs a part or engine, he will do anything to get it.

That was a misprint. It's $700 for an LTL load. Come on guys, use common sense. Any load like that would NOT need to be posted on the load boards and why the HELL would a customer pay 5 times more than they needed to and wouldn't you think the broker would keep $6,000 and advertise $1,000. GEEZ

The only time I have seen this type of rate posted is when it was an OD load which required multi-axle trailers. I have seen some posted for as much as $13,000 for about 1,000 miles. That price would have included escorts, permits, etc., As I recall, the load weighed in excess of 100,000 pounds, which limits who could haul it. My guess is that the load rate was a misprint. I checked the load board and never saw the load. Either someone covered it or they took it off. These load board usually don't post rates on TL. Sometimes they will post rates for LTL's.

G-man that load is still on there. Put in radius search within 200 miles of 30265 zip in GA. Put stepdeck, flat, etc. Use the show loads with amount only. It's the load to Henderson, CO. It's for Western truck parts. They are a truck equipment dealer. This load is directly for the shipper. I called and got a voice mail. I'll try again.

Steve, did you call and verify the bogus $amount?

No, I didn't verify. I used just plain logic and common sense.

You need to ask yourself. A broker is going to try and make as much money on a load as possible. He could have advertised $2.50 per mile and pocketed the rest and had no problem getting someone to take the load.
