Anyone do a rental from Ryder/Penske?

You could also try a peterbilt dealership. The ones up here offer truck rentals. They aren't fancy but well maintained.

I did the Penske AND Ryder route. I found better equipment at Penske. I got a 6,000 mile Columbia w/ 455hp 10spd condo for $540/wk and $.10 a mile. They pay plates, permits, and do all maintenance and PM's/washes at their facility. They also report the fuel tax. Its a great way to have 0% liability on a tractor while getting your feet wet.
Ryder also has similar prices, and they did give me a great 150,000 mile tractor my first summer. Paclease rents trucks as well for a similar price as well. Their fleet even has a few W900's in addition to T600's,T2000's, and T800's.
