It's all a game to get around E.P.A. regs for the moment.

This seems really stupid, though - putting out 2008 models at the beginning of 2007.
They're just borrowing from the auto industry. 8)

I don't think so. They just want to be sure the consumer knows if they are getting a jan 1st 2007 compliant vehicle or not. If they went with the status quo and you bought a 2007 vehicle, you'd have no idea if it was compliant or not until you received it.

I was thinking, about replacing my 2005 (bought may2004) this spring but was strongly advised by my pals at CAT dealer, not to do so!

Besides that prices on a new trucks, went so much up, that it would be economically unreasonable.

Not sure, if it will last me for 12 years, but I'll see what i can do!
Anyhow, it's best to wait and see!

BTW Allan, what about those CAT batteries?

I would because I ordered it.
I know what I order and what I spec.
In fact I have a 2007 truck with a 2006 engine whether or not it's compliant to whatever magazine you're reading at the moment, I don't know (or care)

Is your magazine from your old country.

I'm sorry but you do not spec whether it is a compliant engine or not. If you custom ordered one right now, you would have a 2007 compliant engine.

Now if you went to the dealer, they might have 2007 stock left. I'll bet they "stocked up" on it during 2006.

Wait a minute, you said you would know because you ordered it, yet you don't know if it's 2007 compliant or not, or don't even care? It is a big deal, there son.
