Default How Can I reach you?

What is the best way to reach O&O drivers across the country? We are looking at advertising options, and I would like your opinion.

Is there a paper everyone reads? Do you have a radio station that is popular? Is there a lot of time spent online, and what sites? How would we reach you if you wanted to receive a loan for a truck?

Well, having bought a few trucks and trailers in my time, I would say get in touch with the dealers. They were the guys that always arranged the financing.

Or run an ad in truckpaper.com, internet and print, distributed in truck stops nationwide, though it is not cheap.

It depends on your budget. Direct mail can target those who are current owners by the length of time they have owned a truck by model or brand. You can also target those who hold a CDL. The Truckpaper is a good place to advertise. It is published regionally and you could either purchase by region or nationally. Most people who are planning to purchase a truck will check out Truckpaper. There are also other magazines which cater to them. You might consider Landline Magazine. It is distributed to more than 145,000 OOIDA members. You might also be able to work out a partnership arrangement with them and offer discounts for members. There are other websites which may allow you to advertise. Landstar has their own publication. It is distributed to their BCO's (Owner operators) as well as truck stops like TA. Transport Topics is another trucking publication. There are a number of magazines which target your market. Big Rig Owner is another one to consider.

Talk to carriers that hire owner operators. Build a relationship with them.

When I sat down with the recruiter from Wheaton, he uses 1 of 3 locations to place his drivers, and none of them are local

Wonder how he got those buisness cards and why he does business with them?

But, like other companies, you can negotiate deals and use some companies as co-signers for loans.

Just a thought.

Now sell me a W900

the turnover in the trucking industry is over ... 100% a year: almost every company driver is looking for another job; so they read or research the job market...

every truck stop in US has dozens of free booklets with driving job listings - you can advertise there to attract first-time buyers for example who are not happy about company driving positions.

Popular truck stop chains are Flying J, Travel Centers of America, Petro, Pilot, Love's. Go to the nearest one and look at the booklets and magazines posted there.
