Default UCRA to replace SSSR

Does anyone know why the single state registration system is being replaced by this UCRA?

I haven't heard much about it as yet. There was something mentioned in my renewal that I received. You can bet it will cost us more money. I doubt whether they will have it ready for 2007.

Indiana says they will start in 2007. Thats what came in my renewal. Just something else to confuse DOT and give drivers tickets.

Tennessee also said that they would have it ready. They did leave themselves an out, just in case. I don't see that we really need the SSR or IFTA. I think our base plates should be handled like any other tag or registration. You simply go to your local tag office and pick up the tag. We should not need to even have IFTA. Let states compete for our dollars. Who has the cheaper fuel prices gets the money. :P
