I have a drop in New Rochelle, Yonkers and then Farmingdale, NY. I hope to get them all off tomorrow, then try to get something which will take me close to the house. If not, the Midwest will work, then home.

Thanks, Load It. I plan on it. That is why I am staying in NJ for the night. I will hopefully get an early start so that I can beat some of the rush hour traffic.

Hey guys, keep all the advice coming. I have interviewed a couple of drivers but I have not hired anyone. My main concern is a driver who is careless with the truck and who is not honest.

Yoopr, I stayed in Columbia at the TA. I am now back in NJ at the Flying J in Carney's Point.

Amandeep2001, it seems difficult to find good, honest, qualified drivers. The most difficult of the three is the "qualified."

Friend of mine tried to put drivers in his autohauler. Figures he lost about $50,000 because:
1) he didn't look after the details enough (DOT regs).
2) drivers wouldn't show up to work when they were supposed to.
3) driver stole $2500 and claimed that the truck was getting bad fuel mileage.
4) 9-1-1

And this guys father was an autohauler. You'd better know the the business. I mean, every law in every state and you'd better be able to take the load yourself when the driver doesn't show up.
