Picked up a load at the shipper, did pallett exchange, they said that consignee will do too. Consignee didn't give me the palletts back. Shipper first said, ok, come by and pick them back up. Then they say, no you don't get them, no reason... Who am i gonna bill???
And what's up with this pallett game???

I remember picking up a load at Ore-Ida in Ontario, Oregon and having to wait for the pallet exchange guy to show up to give the shipper pallets. The dock manager refused to load my truck until the pallets were there. I said "Well, I can't leave until you give my my bills anyways, so why not save us both some time, load me up and then when the pallets get here, give me my bills" The guy on the dock refused "No pallets, no load." The pallet guy took forever getting there. The dock manager could have had me loaded up and ready to go by the time he got there but he was being a jackass about it.

So long as you covered yourself, you go after whoever you booked the load with. Your rate confirmation should stipulate pallet exchange, your bills should show number of pallets in/out at shipper and be signed and then at the receiver get them to sign number of pallets in/out. In this case you'd have 24 pallets in/0 pallets out. Then you get on the horn to the broker or shipper, whoever that rate confirmation came from and inform them you'll be billing them for the pallets. They'll either get the receiver to give you pallets or they'll owe you. But you have to have proof of all pallet movements to back it all up.

Broker said, he doesn't pay for it. And the shipper is so weird, because they first said i could get them back and then changed their mind.

Hmm, i dont get it... excuse my ignorance, but whats the deal? i used to come to the shipper with an empty trailer and leave reciever with an empty trailer, if they left junk on it, id kick it on they dock and say goodbye, have a nice day If they want their stuff on pallets, they must supply them, I dont load, i dont unload, i dont rent them pallets :lol:
Of course i did little brokered stuff and no grocery stuff...
