Had a deer strike........just so happened to be a quarter mile from my house on the way back to the yard from my last store. Prolly fed the poor bastard a few times! God it sounded horrible, sounded like a car crash as the bumper got destroyed. I was dropping pieces the next half mile till I could safely get off the road and check the damage. 52mph into a large buck that was around 180 pounds minimum. Drug him at least 300 feet and scalped his antlers. Wife saw him and thought I had mistaken it, she swore it was a doe, it was after I got done with it! Being that I was pulling a reefer, shop asked if I tossed it into the trailer........ Nope, didn't think Walmart would like their trailer full of blood. Handed them what was left of the bumper.......what's this, dirt? Uh no, that's poo, I literally knocked the $hlt out of that buck!

Welcome to the club! I get about one a year even with deer whistles, before the whistles it was unbelievable. I once hit 4 at one time, another time one went under and cleaned off some airlines and wound itself around the driveshaft. Road service wouldn't touch that one! At least you drove it back.

yes, welcome to the "deer strike club", i'm not just A spokesman, i'm a member..>!!!

yes, striking a deer DOES MAKE a god awful sound.

i got lucky, only the front quarter bumper, and he somehow bent UP my passenger side step!, and he destroyed my quarter fender. i was able to get it back to my starting point, then took it to Penske.

called my boss later that morning, as i get in about 5 AM, so i wasn't going to wake him up.

no problems, no worries.

Have never hit a deer, but once i have hit something like a raccoon. Noticed at a truckstop that the wheel and the passenger step were covered with blood
