Are you talking about me? I do wear glasses and it say's right on my license "corrective lenses", I have not had a problem getting hired by anyone. Do you have glasses? And is your eyesight 20/40 with them? Ifso where's the problem?

Its my understanding that so long as your eyesight can be corrected 20/20 with glasses you have no problems. Be aware though, if you wear glasses and your license says so the DOT will expect you to be wearing them. Also, there is a little regulation somewhere that says, if you wear glasses you must carry a spare pair with you in the truck, in case you lose or damage the other pair.
Good luck to you though. Like others mentioned before, if you can pass the test with your glasses you shouldn't have any trouble.

Your vision must be 20/40 or better in each and both. This vision can be your natural or corrected vision. So sorry if you correct to 20/50 or worse you will not pass the vision requirement. You must also have depth perception.

If you wear glasses, taking the vision test can be a pain, yes I wear glasses. Whether they have a machine that you look into or a chart on the wall make sure your glasses are clean and breathe. I also have stigmatism and bi-focals which means the machines are even more troublesome. Try to take a comfortable stance. Relax as much as you can, breathe regularly. I personally do best if I close my eyes as I am putting my head into that contraption then open when I'm fully in.

out here we have a medical for our heavy vehical licence every 10 years which is minor but includes the chart on the wall eye test .which is a lot easier than the machine every car driver has got to do the eye test in .hv license covers your light vehical license as well .if you need glasses you must be wearing them or you lose license for 3months

I wear glasses as well. If I didn't wear my glasses while driving, losing my license for 3 months would be the least of my worries. I have huge issues with my eyes (the biggest being double-vision). If something happens while I'm driving and I need to take them off for a quick wipe-down, it scares the crap out of me because of how bad my vision is. You know the wall chart, with the GIGANTIC letters at the top? With my glasses off, I see a black blob. My vision is corrected to 20/30 in each eye, but with my glasses off, I can focus about 5" in front of my face.
