All this talk about snow got me to thinking about something. For a single woman, snow is a lot like having sex.
She never knows how many inches she'll get, and she never knows how long it will last!!

I'm in Hebron, OH getting ready to head for my delivery close to Lancaster, PA. I'm due there @ 2pm, but I have no clue if I'll make it or not. They have the turnpike open, but at a 45mph speed limit for the entire length. Plus, I have no clue what the rest of the roads (PA 283 & US 30) will be like when I get close.

If I do make the delivery, I'm scheduled to go to Fairfield, PA (which is a couple of miles south of Gettysburg) to pickup a load going back to Fairmont.

Something tells me this is a day I should keep the camera close by at all times.

something else would tell me to just stay parked for 24 hrs to give the road crews a full day to work on the roads. How many on this board think that those drivers involved in the pile-up shouldn't get slapped with a "preventable" on their record? Ain't no way i'd have been on the road (not to mention hilly). Also, i wonder how many drivers were tailgating like you know they do.

funny...any pictures of swift trucks in that mess? thought for sure they'd have made it to this board by now. ;-)

Made it over here this morning with zero problems. Most of the way, I was able to run at 65mph. The roads (I-70,I-76, pa-283 & US-30) were all just wet, with all lanes clear. The worst part of the drive was trying to keep the windshield clear enough to see out of.

I ran up I-79 from Pittsburg to I 80 tthen down 268 to Karns City. I-79 was fine. I-80 was still slicker than owl snot at around 9:00. 268 was salted and OK. Now I am layed over here because Penreco loaded 2,000 lbs of the wrong product into my tank, took 3 hours to pump it out, sent me back to the terminal to get the tank washed and then shut down loading for the day because they didn't want to pay over time.

I got to Fairfield with no problems (or so I thought). This load was supposed to be a drop and hook. Went in, got the paperwork and went out to hook to the other (loaded) trailer. When I pulled it out of the dock and walked to the back, I found the roof of the trailer, along with a few tons of snow, laying on top of the load.

Went in to let them know and they said they'd unload that one onto the trailer I brought in. Well, the problem is that there's a roof in their way and the product is ruined. So, now I get to sit in their dock all night and part of tomorrow while I wait on them to make some more.

Gotta love winter...
