Suggestions on route from York to Albany?

Why not go 81 to 84 to 87 instead of 81 to 88?

I've taken that route both ways and it works and is shorter but I think that your much better off going north and using the route rev gave you. imho unless the company that you work for routes you into NJ i'd stay out of there and the traffic on 78.

I am taking my 10hr break on 88 right now. Travel this way fairly often and live in eastern PA.
Stay off 287 during rush hours.
